South African visa medical: What tests will I need to have carried out?
Your South African visa medical involves having a full medical examination and discussion about your medical history, along with the following tests:
- An HIV test
- A chest X-ray
- A syphilis test
- Tests for hepatitis B and C
- A chlamydia test
- A gonorrhoea test

Are there any additional charges?
- 1) If you are aged over 40 (or when clinically indicated), you also need an electrocardiogram (an ECG), which is £90.

- 3) An HbA1c test (at £90) may be required if you have a history of diabetes.
